We take in animals that are no longer wanted , abandoned , orphaned , neglected and often injured.
Usualy they have been kept in the wrong environment and not given the very specific care requirements that they need.
Very often this is due to the lack of advice obtained from the vendor at the point of sale.
However this said some animals arrive here due to unforseeable changes in the owners personal  circumstances and  so we must not judge every keeper as unsuitable.
Some of the Reptiles have simply grown too large for the keeper to manage.
We aquire an average of 2-3 animals weekly and sometimes more.
You will appreciate that this is an extremely expensive business costing in the region of £900 + per month to properly care for the animals living here.. 
Almost 300 reside here at present.
Heating , lighting , feed  , housing and veterinary costs are extremely high.
Our electicity and gas bills would scare you.
